The University of Texas at El Paso's College of Engineering recently was awarded half of a $1.3 million grant by the Bureau of Reclamation to advance water treatment research. The $1.3 million will be allocated to five research and laboratory study facilities, one pilot test and one demonstration project under the Desalination and Water Purification Program. UTEP received $500,000 to conduct the demonstration project and $150,000 for a research project.
