On Oct. 29th, the city’s first hospital exclusively for women opened its doors to the public at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The $103 million Women's Pavilion and Outpatient Center is housed on the first five floors of the 10-story east tower. It features 90 private rooms, three operating suites and two nurseries.

Outpatient services, expected to open in the week of Nov. 7, will include a physical rehabilitation center, a chemotherapy and infusion center for cancer treatments, a laboratory and an imaging center. The rest of the Women's Pavilion will open at a later date.

The five floors above the Women's Pavilion will hold the El Paso Children's Hospital, opening February 2012.
