Edna Alvarado, an associate in University Medical Center’s Food and Nutritional Care Services Department, has been promoted to chief dietician. She will oversee the clinical nutrition services provided to patients at UMC, El Paso Children’s Hospital and the El Paso Psychiatric Center, all facilities located on the booming Medical Center of the Americas (MCA) campus.  Edna has 10 years’ experience in nutrition support and is a certified pediatric specialist.  She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and a past president of the El Paso Dietetic Association.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Food Science from New Mexico State University.
