The Army is looking for space in El Paso for an off-post family health clinic, the first of its kind for the Army in El Paso.  This is the first time the Army has looked to operate a clinic off-post in El Paso.  The Army is also looking for eight medical practitioners to work at the clinic, including physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Space for the clinic is being sought in East, Far East and Northeast El Paso, specifically in, or very near, the 79904, 79924, 79936, 79925 and 79915 zip codes.  The clinic will include exam rooms, a laboratory, imaging, a pharmacy and private office space. A sample floor plan published with the solicitation shows 18 exam rooms.

They hope to open the clinic six to nine months after the building is secured.

While this clinic will be the first in El Paso, the Army now operates 17 off-post family clinics across the country.  The Army has been upgrading its medical infrastructure at Fort Bliss at a rapid clip, trying to stay ahead of the growing soldier population at Bliss.  When it opens, the 11,000-square-foot clinic will accept family members of active duty soldiers.  The hope is to enroll 8,100 people and provide services at the clinic for retired military members in the future.
