Four members of the El Paso County Medical Society have been appointed to serve in various capacities with the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Robert H. Emmick, an emergency medicine physician, was elected to a three-year term on the association's Council on Health Service Organizations. Dr. Jesus Alberto Gomez, a hematologist and oncologist practicing for 18 years, was appointed to the Committee on Cancer. Dr. Gilberto A. Handal, an infectious disease specialist practicing for 40 years, was reappointed to the Committee on Child and Adolescent Health.  Dr. Angel M. Rios, an obstetrician-gynecologist practicing for 18 years, was reappointed to the Committee on Membership.
