Bruce Bryson Storrs, a pediatric neurosurgeon, and Steven Aaron Ross, a pediatric radiologist, have joined the medical staff at El Paso Children’s Hospital.

Storrs arrival makes him the only pediatric neurosurgeon practicing in El Paso County. His expertise covers just about every aspect of a growing body, including birth defects, injuries and accidents, brain and spinal cord tumors, and medical treatments for infirmities such as cerebral palsy. El Paso Children’s Hospital will continue recruiting additional support for Storrs. As a result, El Paso Children’s Hospital will become home to El Paso’s premier pediatric neurosurgery program.
Storrs is one of 186 Pediatric Neurosurgeons who are U.S. Board Certified through the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. At El Paso Children's Hospital, he is supported by and works with the Pediatric Surgical Department team that includes four pediatric anesthesiologists, two pediatric surgeons and two orthopedic surgeons.
Regarding his background, Storrs has a history living and working in the region. His father, also a doctor, was stationed at White Sands Missile Range. Storrs’ medical degree is from the University of New Mexico, where also received his undergraduate education. He did part of his residency there and later was chief of the medical school's Division of Neurosurgery. While at UNM, he met and married his wife, who is from Chihuahua City, Mexico, and who is a medical interpreter. Storrs is also fluent in Spanish. Over a 40-year period, Storrs has practiced in Utah, New Mexico, Florida, Illinois, South Carolina and California. He worked in many positions in Albuquerque, including a stretch in 2004 as the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Presbyterian Hospital and in the same job at Children's Hospital of New Mexico before that. Dr. Ross
Before joining El Paso Children’s Hospital, Ross was in private practice as a pediatric and general radiologist at High Plains Radiological Association in Amarillo. He earned a bachelor of science and master of science in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
